About Me – Your Reliable Garden Maintenance Partner
I have been in the gardening business since 2012, starting out as Tidy Gardens and steadily building a loyal client base over the years. My work has included both long-term garden maintenance and one-off projects such as restoring neglected gardens, seasonal tidy-ups, weeding, and major cutbacks of overgrown shrubs and hedges.
From small hedges just 1 m high to medium-sized 2–3 m hedges and even towering specimens, I have the experience, equipment, and skill to manage them all. While I am not a tree surgeon and do not undertake work on large trees, fruit trees generally don’t fall into that category — and I’m happy to prune and maintain these for my clients. Lawn care is naturally a primary task in most gardens, but so is weeding — a simple yet essential job that’s often skipped or avoided. In my view, no gardener can truly call themselves one if they’re not willing to take on weeding. Too often, I see “gardeners” who are little more than mower pushers or twig choppers.
Over the years, I have also worked on landscaping projects with great success. However, since quality landscaping requires a reliable team — something increasingly hard to find — I decided to focus primarily on garden maintenance, where I know I can deliver consistent results on my own. My clients can rely on me with complete peace of mind, knowing I am as dependable as the equipment I use.
I work with both petrol and battery-powered tools, always investing in the best machinery to ensure maximum efficiency. I’m open to new innovations in garden equipment, as better tools allow me to work smarter and faster. For this reason, I do not charge by the hour — I charge per task, as agreed in advance with the customer. This way, you pay for results, not for the clock. It’s worth considering: you could hire someone for two full days or hire me for half a day and get the same work done for the same price.
I also provide full green waste removal for any amount of garden debris — branches, leaves, weeds, and more. I am not limited to just a few bags, unlike some competitors. For most of the gardens I maintain regularly, I work alone, but if a larger crew is ever required, I can organise and manage it.
Whether you need regular maintenance or a one-off transformation, I bring the same commitment to quality, efficiency, and reliability to every job.

Planting Services
I provide both planting services and plants, depending on what you need. You can book me just for planting, or I can create a full planting plan, supply the plants, and carry out the whole job from start to finish.
I feel it’s important to say a few words about planting, because too often I see it done poorly by builders, landscapers, or even so-called gardeners. Here in Berkshire and Reading, the soil is rarely naturally humus-rich, soft, and fluffy. More often it’s heavy clay or compacted ground. Planting in these conditions isn’t as simple as digging a quick hole and dropping a plant in — it takes proper preparation to give them the best chance of thriving.
Too often I’ve seen plants left with their root ball barely dug in, or surrounded by soil that’s still hard and unbroken, making it almost impossible for new roots to spread. I take a different approach. Using professional power machinery, I prepare the ground thoroughly, creating a soft, open pocket for your shrubs, perennials, or trees. This is the most efficient way to dig a planting hole — it saves time, keeps costs competitive, and most importantly, sets your plants up for healthy growth.
Of course, planting doesn’t end once the plant is in the soil. Proper aftercare is essential. Watering is the most important step in helping roots establish, and in the longer run, a little weeding around the base ensures your plants stay strong and healthy for years to come.

Unlike many others I have seen over the years, that have moved away from gardening and went into
landscaping, we as a company stayed primarily focused on garden maintenance ! I do love well designed and executed garden but I rather put my effort in keeping these areas nice and tidy. I DO TAKE PRIDE IN THIS !
Tidy Gardens maintenance evolved into two main services:
One-off garden tidy ups - We have turned around many gardens from weedy, overgrown fields into neat areas of interest.
Regular garden maintenance - We have had many gardens under our regular service for years ! Having us to do it, means you only need to enjoy it ! No need for weeding, mowing, pruning, trimming, leaf collections, garden waste disposals etc... We do it for You.
